I’ve been thinking a lot about this recently. It is such an integral part of our coping mechanism as human beings. Imagine if we were incapable of adapting to life post-covid? Exactly!
So, why am I writing about this, you wonder. What does our coping mechanism have to do with running a business or marketing. Good question. And, the answer cannot be simpler. Just as a human’s ability to adapt is directly proportionate to their survival. So, is a marketing strategy for the survival of its business. Ensuring that there is room and scope for improvement is an essential part of any marketing activity. Below are some ways to achieve this.
- Measuring your results will help you adapt and improve – so don’t just end your strategy with executing your plan but have KPI’s in place to measure its success or failure
- Monitor Trends – it is important to ensure you are up to date with industry, cultural and news trends
- When you create something, don’t shy away from changing it till you are satisfied but know it is okay to send it out in the digital world and then revise it when you think of something (I do this so often with my posts and blogs)
- Leave room to adapt, have a basic template in place but do not confine or box yourself within that because then you will get stuck. A good example of this is Instagram feeds and the popular use of only a bunch of colors for your posts etc. They look beautiful but what if you want to share something that is not within the template? It is okay! You are showing soul. Don’t NOT share something because of that
